Fine Chocolate Since 1998	Etienne Guittard journeyed from France to San Francisco in the mid 1800's, searching for gold that he never found. Mr. Guittard also brought delicious chocolate from his uncle's factory in France, making him a very popular fellow. This inspired Etienne to establish the Guittard Chocolate Company in San Francisco, in 1868. The Guittard family has continued in the tradition of Etienne and his uncle for four generations, making chocolate of the highest quality in the San Francisco Bay area for over a century. With the utmost care given to crafting their chocolate, Guittard has an offering that is sure to enhance your favorite recipe or become a special treat! Guittard offers Kosher Chocolate certified by O‑U. Sur del Lago, Origin: Western Venezuela, South of Lake Maracaibo Sur del Lago’s criollo and trinitario hybrid heritage, with dominant criollo genes, create a complex chocolate. The criollo ancestry produces a delicate chocolate of a lighter color than other chocolates – a radiant, rich red in the case of Sur del Lago. There are deep red fruity notes, sometimes described as berry or cherry-like. With a natural acidity, Sur del Lago marries beautifully with all sweet flavors, such as caramel and fully ripe fruits. Ecuador Nacional, Origin: Ecuador The Ecuador Nacional cacao bean is a unique trinitario whose history is associated with the older cacao plantations in Ecuador. It has become a variety in its own right over a long period of time due to its uniqueness. It has traditionally been used as a key flavor bean in dark chocolate blends. Alone, Ecuador Nacional produces a chocolate that has strong, green herbal qualities, a spiciness, is more astringent than other cacao beans, and has no acidity.
